100% CRAFTSMANSHIP

Stitching on the beautiful courtyard of the Gruuthuse palace in the centre Bruges is quite unique …

Museum Bruges organised a craft market on the historic courtyard of the Gruuthuse palace on the last day that the museum was open (the museum will close for a few years because of major renovations).
This 1-day event was linked to the exposition 100% craftsmanship (100% ambachtelijk) that showed the rich heritage of the numerous craftsmen over the centuries in Bruges. Metal, wood, glass, pottery, lace etc… Bruges has still got a lot of very fine craftsmen, Handmade in Brugge is living proof of that.
5 craftsmen showed their skills; the ladies of kant-act (Martine Bruggeman, lace), Rudy Dewulf (woodwork), Pieter Boudens (letter sculpting); Feu et fer (fire and iron, smith) and me and my leatherwork

It was fun, the sun was shining, a unique setting, clumsy movers and a lot of visitors appreciated our work yesterday! What more can you ask for?

  1. Jammer dat we dit event moesten missen, ik kreeg echter vele groeten van Marie-Anne :)
